SESSIONS DESCRIPTION

The sessions will be chaired by expert faculty who will analyze each module question, review current evidence and key points and summarize clinical pearls.  Session attendees actively participate using an audience response system and verbalize their understanding of current evidence and a common consensus would be achieved in answering these questions.  The collective information gathered in these interactive sessions enhances individual knowledge and longer retention of current medical information.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon conclusion of the Cardiovascular Disease Update 2007 SEP Medical Knowledge Module, participants should be able to:

• Identify key issues in Cardiovascular Disease Update
• Summarize recent advances in Cardiovascular Disease Update based on case discussions
• Complete the Cardiovascular Disease Update
• Explain current ABIM Maintenance of Certification requirements

Upon conclusion of the Office-Based Internal Medicine (87-F), participants should be able to:

• Identify key issues in Office-Based Internal Medicine

• Complete the Office-Based Internal Medicine SEP Medical Knowledge Module
• Explain current ABIM Maintenance of Certification requirements

Upon conclusion of the 2007 Update in Hospital-Based Internal Medicine (AO-E) SEP Medical Knowledge Module, participants should be able to:

• Identify key issues in the 2007 Update in Hospital-Based Internal Medicine SEP Medical Knowledge Module
• Summarize recent advances in 2007 Update in Hospital-Based Internal Medicine based on case discussions
• Complete the ABIM 2007 Update in Hospital-Based Internal Medicine SEP Medical Knowledge Module
• Explain current ABIM Maintenance of Certification requirements

Upon conclusion of the Internal Medicine Recent Advances (00-A) SEP Medical Knowledge Module, participants should be able to:

• Identify key issues in Internal Medicine Recent Advances (00-A)
• Summarize recent advances in Internal Medicine Recent Advances (00-A) based on case discussions
• Complete the Internal Medicine Recent Advances (00-A)
• Explain current ABIM Maintenance of Certification requirements

INTENDED AUDIENCE

The learning sessions are intended for general internists and sub-specialists preparing for maintenance of their certification in internal medicine.

CREDIT

SCPMG is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.  SCPMG designates this educational activity for a maximum of 5.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ for both  Office-Based Internal Medicine and Internal Medicine Recent Advances  and 2.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ for both Cardiovascular Disease Update 2007 and 2007 Update in Hospital-Based Internal Medicine.
